Is no news good news???

It is probably just typical Guatemalan news... The culture is as the culture does. Nothing is done in a hurry...and I do mean nothing. It is a hurry up and wait kind of place. Chances are (and I am speculating here) that Marco met with the judge last week and she asked him for x, y, & z documents (the courts are the paper seekers....can't seem to give them enough without being asked for another one) or he was simply "postponed" due to something unforeseen after planning for and awaiting "his/our turn."

The day we went to court to ask permission to bring Cintia out for surgery, I was stunned at the process. We sat in a room full of Guatemalan ladinos and Mayan families all mixed together...where we all sat all day. We had our names on a list and hoped that the day did not end until our name was called. It took hours to have our names called. We actually ended up leaving after the judge which was past 5:00. Once we had given our depositions, we were given a "list" of x, y, & z with our approval. If you get me x, y, & z and they all agree, I will grant you your request. So there is a good chance that Marco has experienced a similar situation. Why wouldn't he let me know? Again, the culture is to wait until they have the answers. We like to send out a quick email saying..."Don't worry...slight delay" or "All is well, we just don't have all the details lined up yet" or "It is probably a NO but I have one more possibility of getting a YES." That is the American way...Not the Guatemalan way. Patience......

Psalm 37:5-7 "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself ..."

So...we wait patiently praying for justice at noonday. Please keep praying!

Many Blessings!
April

Thanks for the update. We are still praying for Cintia every chance we get. Emma will be happy to get an update for prayer. I am sure God knows her heart and voice by now with all this dialog with Him. Keep the faith! The Steeles
