Silly girl! She loves cake!

Cintia loves Mommy!

Making silly kissy lips!

Cintia is one of the most strong willed, tempermental children I have ever encountered. Timeout is part of who she is and what she requires to even stand herself. She is one of the reasons James Dobson wrote his book, "The Strong Willed Child." She may be a little spoiled (can you imagine us doing that!) and have been through enough in her little life to warrant it, but nevertheless...she is what she is. On the flip side, she is pure joy. She truly makes us laugh so many times a day. To see her smile will turn your worst day around. To see her joy flow makes joy flow from any heart. To walk into a room of strangers with her means stopping again and again because she captures every heart she encounters. For a child who did not know how to kiss or hug when I got her last April, has she come full circle or what? I keep telling myself that once the judge sees her with us and how much she loves and is loved, how could she even consider depriving her of that? Regardless of medical care, how could someone take this little girl who speaks not a word of Spanish (not our choice...just circumstances) and deprive her of the love and life she deserves?
Cintia teaches hope, grace, and mercy in a world deprived of that. Today I will choose to dwell on that and believe that the same judge who felt compassion and showed mercy for her last April (when the odds were stacked against her) will do it again.
Blessings!
April
