I just heard from Luis, the attorney who submitted our formal request to court on Monday. He tried to meet with the judge today but she had back to back abandonment cases and could not meet with him. Her court official says her docket is full. WE NEED A SPOT! The court official is trying to find one. Tomorrow, Luis goes back to court to "insist" we get a spot and will let me know. Boy, doesn't that sound promising.... Our attorneys are well respected and not pushy. I pray that the spot just miraculously appears and we get fit in somewhere. Pray diligently...without that spot Cintia's visa will expire and we will either be stuck in Guatemala or will have to beg the embassy in Guatemala for a new visa...requiring more court documents, stateside documents, and mercy. (That is assuming we get permission to bring her back in the first place....actually it is having faith that we will.) It was so difficult to get a visa the first time that we need to get in and out on the one she has. If we get stuck, we will be calling senators, representatives, and everyone we can think of who can call the embassy and help us. Needless to say....WE NEED A SPOT!
Keep those prayers going up!
